Spring Tennis Lessons will begin in April. Our instructor, Tim Newell will return as well. Tim has been our Tennis Instructor since 2016 and is both a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher when it comes to helping participants to better understand the sport of tennis. All participants should bring their own racket and water. Tennis balls will be provided but participants can bring their own if they so choose. The Salem Recreation Division is partnering with 22:6 Athletics, LLC in offering flag football. The program has two age categories/divisions for 8-10 year old's and 11-14 year old's.A practice schedule will be sent to all participants before the season begins along with rules/regulations and game   schedules. All practices and games will take place at the Walmart Multipurpose Field located in Salem, NH. Coaches and volunteers needed! Please contact our Department upon registration if interested. Participants should have cleats and shorts/pants with no pockets for game play. Included with registration fee: roster spot, jersey, and trophy/awards.

The Annual Fishing Derby will be held at Hedgehog Park on May 4, 2024. This year we are allowing for pre-registrationThe event has different start times depending on the age group your child is in:8 Years Old and Under: Day-Of Registrants Arrival Time: 8:30AMPre-Registered Arrival Time: 8:45AMFishing: 9:30AM-10:15AM9 to 15 Years Old: Day-Of Registrants Arrival Time: 9:30AMPre-Registered Arrival Time: 10:00AMFishing: 10:20AM-11:20AMAwards will follow at the end of the derby for each age group. Prizes will be awarded to the smallest and the largest fish caught in each age group. Additionally, we will be awarding the overall winner of all age groups who catches the longest total fish!Only one prize per person will be awarded. However, other prizes will be raffled off, along with one participant from each age group being honored with the 'Chuck Black Most Spirited Fishing Award'. This event will take place rain or shine!There is No Fishing Allowed 24 Hours Prior to the Event

This High Energy & Innovative Class mixes all of the best aspects of cardio tennis with point play, high intensity games and fun! This 10 Week Class set follows immediately after the Adult Intermediate level tennis classes. We are trying out a "Pay Per Class" model for this program.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Spring Tennis - Introduction to Tennis (Ages 5-7) - 10w Program
Spring Tennis Lessons will begin in April. Our instructor, Tim Newell will return as well. Tim has been our Tennis Instructor since 2016 and is both a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher when it comes to helping participants to better understand the sport of tennis. All participants should bring their own racket and water. Tennis balls will be provided but participants can bring their own if they so choose. Times subject to change based on participation numbers.If you have any questions prior to registration, we will assist you. If there is inclement weather, the instructor will try to make up the class. Lessons take priority over open play at Michele Memorial Park Tennis Courts.

Participants can register here below or at The Recreation Office. A $15.00 annual registration fee for 2024 will be assessed to all participants who are residents (proof of residency required). 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM    Spring Flag Football - Flag Football
The Salem Recreation Division is partnering with 22:6 Athletics, LLC in offering flag football. The program has two age categories/divisions for 8-10 year old's and 11-14 year old's.A practice schedule will be sent to all participants before the season begins along with rules/regulations and game   schedules. All practices and games will take place at the Walmart Multipurpose Field located in Salem, NH. Coaches and volunteers needed! Please contact our Department upon registration if interested. Participants should have cleats and shorts/pants with no pockets for game play. Included with registration fee: roster spot, jersey, and trophy/awards.

A 5-week Track and Field program will begin in May for ages 5-8 years old focusing on physical fitness, conditioning, and the early basics of the sport. Volunteers are always appreciated! Please email Juliann Isabelle at jisabelle@salemnh.gov for more information on community involvement.
